All programs at the Chesapeake library have been cancelled until January 2021. This includes Monster Fest. We’ll miss our Monster Fest friends and family this October, but can’t wait to see you in 2021!
Happy Halloween Ghosts and Ghouls!
Just wanted to make an official post here that we are planning for Monster Fest 17 as per normal. If the State of Virginia/City of Chesapeake has not reached a “phase” allowing larger gatherings, obviously, things will have to change.
I am living on the glass is half-full side of life and making plans for October and Monster Fest!
Join us for Monster Fest 17 on October 3rd, 2020.
Follow the link below for a vendor application form.
Get your money’s worth out of those Halloween costumes this year! Bring the kids to trick-r-treat with our vendors and guests all day long during Monster Fest! We won’t tell anyone if they wear the same costume for Halloween night. Promise!
See you on October 5, 2019 at Monster Fest!
Monster Fest is about a month away. Do you have your horror costumes ready for the costume contest? Have you checked out the Guest/Vendor page to see who you need to visit and what you want to purchase? Don’t forget we will be holding a silent auction and a raffle to benefit Relay for Life, which is a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.
We have enlisted the services of a new food truck vendor this year, Yolee’s G-Dawgz & Catering Co. Their menu is posted below.
We just got back from Monster Bash (where our postcards advertising Monster Fest flew off the table!) and I’m pulling the links together to post our vendor list here soon. In the meantime I wanted to shout out a thanks to two new sponsors. Vintage Trixie , Retro Daddio and Dennis Rogers!
Retro Daddio will not be able to join us at Monster Fest but wanted to send some love and support. Be sure to spread the love and check out their page or stop in the store (located at 6610 V Mooretown Road, Williamsburg, VA)
Vintage Trixie is located at 112 Wayne Avenue in Chesapeake, VA and will also have a table at Monster Fest for the first time this year. Check out their store and also visit their facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/vintagetrixie/
Most of you know Rob and I as those people that run Monster Fest (or any of the other things we organize/participate in). We don’t usually put our personal life on social media or bring it into any of the things we run. We try to keep things separated. This year however has been a very difficult one for us and it is going to make one very significant change to Monster Fest.
Last December, my Dad died of Cancer and just over 2 weeks ago my Sister, Becky, died of Liver Cancer. Another member of my family is being treated for Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma currently. The biggest Monster at Monster Fest this year, in my opinion, is Cancer.
So, this year at Monster Fest our charity will be Relay for Life. We are still going to raffle off the prize basket(s) at the end of the day BUT proceeds from the sale of all the raffle tickets from the prize basket(s) will go to my niece’s (Samantha Bowers) Relay for Life fundraiser. Sam is Becky’s daughter and she has done so much to help raise awareness and money for the American Cancer Society. I know Becky is so proud of her, and so am I.
Please visit Sam’s Relay for Life table at Monster Fest and purchase a raffle ticket for a $1 each (and feel free to make any additional donations you like). Also, be sure to check out the other things she will have for sale to help raise money. 100% of the proceeds go directly to Relay for Life.
You have all donated so generously in the past and I know I can count on you to do so again for this very worthwhile cause.
Thanks for your support and for being a part of the Monster Fest family!
